The Ring of Fire: Ted Cruz Could Win The GOP Nomination – And That’s Terrifying

Ted Cruz is the sleeper candidate of the 2016 election. He has a better infrastructure and more money at his disposal than any other GOP candidate, and that’s a very scary prospect for this country.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

They know Jeb's not going to get it, they like Carson (don't ask me why) but they know they're kidding themselves if they picture him in the Oval Office, and they're smart enough to know that at some point Trump is gonna flame out.

They are waiting for Cruz's "moment" and God help us all if that moment comes. All of the Bernie / Hillary sniping would need to screech to a halt and WHOEVER gets the Dem nod needs a vote, because every Democrat who stays home would be voting for Cruz.

Glad to see people are starting to voice this theory...I've believed it for months.

- what a horrible thought ...

I think Carson is going to drop like a stone. The only person he's fooling now is himself.

So Cruz will join Rubio and Trump as one of the top three for now.

The media is eventually going to carve up Trump

So maybe they'll do a dance with Cruz but I don't expect he can hold on.

I think this is the sleeper, Rubio, who will win the prize

Most of the local Repubs here are feeling that Kasich is, at best, a player for the VP slot but Cruz is the odds on favorite. Consensus is that he's focused (on all the wrong things if you ask me) and he's doing the "grunt work" necessary to be elected - not getting caught up in the show of winning polls.

Scary stuff. In the conversations I have, these folks do NOT think he's crazy and they don't think they're crazy. In their words...he's a smart patriot and that's what this company needs right now.

As always, reinforces that turnout is going to be the key. Elections go to those who show up (unless of course they're in ohio voting on debold machines but that's another post).

Though I cannot imagine this master of debate winning a general election for president.
