O'Reilley was making a covert threat against Will's job at Fox by name dropping the 'Hard News' director's name; but Will didn't fall for it.

The whole exchange is actually pretty awesome. Especially the part where Will points out that neither O'Reilley nor his ghost writer ever tried to SEE the memo he's quoting in his book, based on the sign-in records at the Reagan Library. And O'Reilley's ghost writer was basically just quoting a bunch of second hand shit that he read in other peoples' gossip books.

I've been saying this for years, though it wins me few friends here, but I respect George Will, even though I seldom agree with him.

IMHO, there was a hack in that discussion, but it wasn't Will.
