Republicans Are Horrible But They Still Win – What’s Happening Here?

How is it possible for Republicans to be falling apart internally yet still successful when it comes to winning elections? A lethal mix of gerrymandering, voter suppression, and fear manipulation is what keeps these creeps in power.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

3. Never Overestimate The American Voter

If you lie enough, and the repubs do that CONSTANTLY, plenty of stupid people will believe you and vote for you.

The right to vote is not limited to intelligent people, or even people who follow politics and know what's going on in the country.

As a whole, the Democratic party probably gets the intelligent voter. The repubs take the wealthy, who clearly will always support repubs, and the remaining support comes from religious evangelicals along with voters who foolishly believe the repub party holds their best interests at heart. Usually these people hear the sound bytes and the promises of the repub party, without actually knowing a single thing about the platform or what the party really stands for.

by the beautiful electronic voting machines with the blue screen or the nice device that looks like a printer but which counts the vote when you just slide your ballot through. It's so thrilling to realize how technologically superior we are to the those dark days of the 60s.

There's really no need to verify votes anymore to make sure that the totals are correct. All we need to do is make sure nobody can mess with the machines or do anything that looks suspicious. As long as you make sure nobody does anything with the machines, it's OK. We can check to make sure the totals agree with the number of people voting of course but that's all we really need to verify. What's so amazing is that in over 50 years now people have become oh so much more trustworthy. Nobody would ever try to rig the programming inside the machines and anybody who suggests that is just a conspiracy theorist. They should be especially kept away from the machines. You can recognize them from the tiny tin hat they wear.

There should be press releases every day detailing how the opposition party is taking away rights and basically destroying democracy. I read these stories here and elsewhere but never a mention on msm or anywhere. Where are the leaders and spokespersons in this party there is surely enough information that needs to be put out. The republicans sure find a way to blast democratics daily. And yes we don't fricking vote either.

Quite apart from the obvious fact that MILLIONS of voters consistently endorse their mentality.

If we never get that, they can do whatever they want to. Literally.

How do we really know if all of these Republicans really won?

We have polling methodologies used (the "scientific" ones) that skew results conservative in my opinion, and then we have actual election results that so very often shift even further to the right. That's a one-two punch that gives TPTB A LOT of lee-way to steal elections.

I honestly can't believe we haven't made a bigger deal of it yet.

We just keep wishing, and hoping, and praying...

it's name recognition. When people look at a list of names, they pick a name that they recognize, they don't think about what that person has done or not done. These are casual voters, they vote because it's the right thing to do, but they really don't study any of the issues. It's why Reagan was elected, everyone knew who he was. He had been on TV for years, including Saturday mornings and weekday afternoons. Kids grew up with him, they knew him.

These type of people, some don't even know who their governor or even mayor is, much less any representative in DC. When they 'watch' the news, usually they are half paying attention or falling asleep. Even people with Fox news on all day, don't really pay attention. I saw it in action. I was staying the night at a friend of a friend's house, and they had Fox news on, but they weren't watching it, it was background noise, sort of like having a radio playing in the background. Hell, they weren't even in the same room as the TV. We were all in the kitchen.

DC insiders put too much thought into all this. The repubs got it right, they know that name repetition will get the job done. They have even stopped putting Republican on their signs and mail outs.
