They refused.
In 2011, we didn't know how that would turn out. It was reasonable to suggest things to pressure Obama to stop seeking a deal with Social Security cuts. Bernie Sanders said that a primary challenger would cause Obama to stop that.

(41,136 posts)AKA the Catfood Commission did alarm and confuse people, some I've known all my life, esp. Dems. The two senior officials were in the media for months, and for every appearance received speaking fees of 70K which will add to their retirement funds.

(50,983 posts)I love Representative Conyers. He is right about the President. The President is leading on the TPP, which is against our interests. We need him to be an advocate for working people and unemployed people. Where are you, Mr. President?
