Representative John Conyers suggests there should be protests in front of the White House for Obama making a proposal for cuts to Social Security as a bargaining tool for raising the debt ceiling.

Actions in regards to offering up social security cuts back then. It wasn't one of Obama's finest moments...

Obama told them: I'll agree to Social Security cuts if you agree to raise taxes.

They refused.

In 2011, we didn't know how that would turn out. It was reasonable to suggest things to pressure Obama to stop seeking a deal with Social Security cuts. Bernie Sanders said that a primary challenger would cause Obama to stop that.

AKA the Catfood Commission did alarm and confuse people, some I've known all my life, esp. Dems. The two senior officials were in the media for months, and for every appearance received speaking fees of 70K which will add to their retirement funds.

I love Representative Conyers. He is right about the President. The President is leading on the TPP, which is against our interests. We need him to be an advocate for working people and unemployed people. Where are you, Mr. President?
