Related: About this forumElephant Comes To The Rescue
Elephants have some of the most emotionally complex lives in the animal kingdom. If you need proof, look no further.
Thongsri is a 17-year-old elephant living at a sanctuary in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and when she sees her caretaker in trouble, she does the only thing she knows how to do.
You cant watch this video and see anything but Thongsris genuine concern for her caretaker. She wasnt going to let anything happen to him.

I wouldn't want an upset 2000+ pound animal chasing me. Her loyalty to her human is admirable.

And it's quite interesting that she seeks to help, to give aid, to get him back on his feet, rather than chasing after the aggressor. That takes...well...THOUGHT!
