Paul Ryan’s First Act As Speaker is Screwing Over Poor People

Paul Ryan has come up with an insane idea to privatize part of the IRS so that private debt collectors can stick it to poor people. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, but if the Republicans were serious about wanting to fund the government, maybe they should start with their corporate pals that are holding hundreds of billions of dollars in offshore tax havens.

Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins discusses this.

that infests most hierarchical institutions out there. Of course, he sticks it to poor people as he blames them for their birth into poverty and lack of opportunities thanks in large part to his rotten political party.

He'll work damned hard for a permanent tax holiday on repatriated offshore corporate profits. Then he'll raise regressive taxes and cut government services to help make up the shortfall he'll create.

I hate Republicans. He's close to the top of that list.

you know where. What a recipe for political success. First enact draconian middle class wrecking policies, create millions more poor Americans, then yank the safety net out from under them. Are there no workhouses?!? Are there no prisons?!!!!!!!

Paul Ryan is vulnerable to losing his seat in the House of Representatives.
Wisconsin's 1st District has part of the deeply republican entrenched Waukesha county, but not the stronghold of the city of Waukesha. It also holds the economically devastated cities of Racine and Kenosha. The hard hit minority communities in South Milwaukee are crying for a progressive leader.

Because the population is some 90% white and 58% white collar, and Ryan and his ilk think it is safe. That's their weak spot, that assumption. If we motivate the white and white collar dems, if we can get a surge in progressive voters, we will overwhelm the republicans. Ryan is counting on his incumbency and the added status of being Speaker. Him actually speaking is not a boon for republicans. His budget proposals are terrifying to anyone not in the top 10% of the income brackets.

South Wisconsin was hit hard during the recession, and isn't near what it used to be. People are tired of nothing being done for them. The older population will be hurting and fearful of the SS cutting walking derp. They will flock to people advocating expanding SS and SSI.

If the Democratic party aggressively ran a progressive candidate, we could unseat the zombie eyed granny starver.
This is Les Aspin's old seat. He held it for 20+ years.

and I couldn't agree more.

I grew up in the state west from Wisconsin and they use to work hand in hand on damn near everything, but ever since the walkers of the world got into power, it is absolutely amazing to watch people vote against the best interests.

But we the democratic party just got lost the governorship of Kentucky and this had better be the proverbial canary in the mine now for the party.

he lost in 12, and now the American republicants are voting for Trump and Carson.

Their party is toast.

P.S. This is one guy at the top of the list of heartless republicants.
