MSNBC's Joe Scarborough Has On-Air Mental Breakdown Over Liberal Media Myth

The resident Republican blowhard on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough, has staked out his post as the network's voice of rightist disinformation. He commands his three hour block of airtime like a junta leader, ordering the topics of discussion and interrupting his guests incessantly.

This morning Scarborough appeared to have a severe cognitive collapse during a segment about the Republican Party's debate-o-phobia (video below). Like most of his ideological allies, he is suffering from the delusion that the American media, owned by a handful of megalithic, multinational corporations, is dominated by liberals. Scarborough set off on a rant about the absence of conservatives on nightly news programs, Sunday shows, and in the executive suites. He badgered his guests to come up with examples of Republicans in those roles, and insisted that they could not do it.

MSNBC has removed the liberal that wouldn't go along with the corporate agenda. Just because a Democrat is a host does not mean they do not follow a strict code of behavior. That or lose their job.

are reported without comment as the news or the right's position on all the major networks and especially the Sunday am shows punctures a huge hole in DeadInternJoe's argument

Of course the media is liberal. THE FIRST AMENDMENT IS LIBERAL. FREEDOM OF SPEECH IS LIBERAL. The media must liberally explore all viewpoints, not limit discussion as is the wish of conservatives.

If they don't want a liberal media or freedom of speech, go to Russia where there is a government that will guarantee you can get a hardline Republican run the national media and only disseminate approved government information.

Scarborough is a fuckin' idiot. Complaining on the media itself about how Republicans like him don't get to complain on the media. His biggest complaint is how he is a third-tier TV journalist but he really wants to be Nightly News anchor.

Except that the liberal conspiracy is holding back his career and the careers of other propagandists like him.

You hit the mark exactly, especially the first paragraph. Couldn't have said it better.

It is pretty amazing how much conservatives whine about the 'liberal media', given they are supposedly the party of 'pull up your bootstraps'....

Though I guess since they really aren't that, it should be expected.

As I said the other day, I began calling myself a progressive in the late nineties when it became apparent to me that "liberals" were turning their backs on American workers by supporting "free" trade and other features of supply-side economics. Liberals had become wimps.

George Will (ABC)
Newt Gingrich (ABC)
William Kristol (NBC)
Peggy Noonan (NBC)

There are more, you can probably go to any of their websites and get long lists of those whose names I don't know or can't remember. To be quite honest, it often seems that they out number the demo/liberals on the shows, but I've never actually counted them up.

Ted Kopple sat with his fellows on one of his last shows and said that we're all conservatives. There were four in discussion that night.

John McGaughlin of PBS and his conservative usuals all but the talked-over token female third-way liberal who when espousing anything non-right wing is then talked over.

FOX news in its entirety. Especially Juan Williams and Mara Liasson from the ridiculous right wing attempts NPR made.

Yes, the late Tim Russert came from Democratic party background, but his TWO replacements were NOT. And, while Tim was on, Phil Donahue had his number one rated show cancelled when too liberal Phil was against US going to war in Iraq. The message was clear to everyone on a payroll.

Yes, George Stefanopolous came from Clinton's administration and he remained mad at old Bill. That was not helping any liberal causes.

Bill Maher and Howard Stern were off the air in weeks or even days when they started to speak against George Bush.

I think that they think they are in the big club. Uh-uh, it's a big club boys and girls, but we ain't in it!

And, who ANYWHERE in the media does not realize that their promotions and their current jobs do not depend on them being conciliatory to Republicans while being degrading to Democrats. THEY ALL KNOW IT.

Joe internless Scarborough is a liar or ignorant. I don't care which. He's good at both.

and non-accurate ... then sure.
leaning democratic when you vote (which I don't believe anyone should be forced to talk about) does not make you a liberal.
all he did was list moderate-corporate SOPPOSED democrats. I mean come on.. never met a producer or executive in media who wasn't a liberal ? please.
