I am not even sure it would be fair if he was the standing mayor in Baltimore at the same time being Governor and President of the United States. I know that isn't possible, I am just saying. No one really has the power to stop a riot. It takes having a culture that gives all people a fair chance to find their success.

Nearly 10 years? The the two Mayors since then are not at all accountable? They didn't change anything since then? Did they just continue all the policies of the previous administrations? Also, O'Malley abandoned the worst of his policies early in his term(s?), as Mayor. He learned from those disasters. I am not going to excuse him for those policies because they created real problems. But, to tie him to riots 10 years later is beyond fair.

He didn't do it alone, other people share the responsibility. But he contributed. I could paste so many articles and statements about it from the civil rights community in Baltimore. But I'll spare you that annoyance. You can probably find them on the web.

I don't think he's learned from the mistake. He still defends that type of policing.

Amid Protests, Martin O’Malley Defends ‘Zero Tolerance’ Policing

To comfortable with him, I would need to hear more details about why he thought those were good policies, and how much has he really changed his mind on the issue and for what reasons.

As far as I know, he still defends it.

The question still wasn't. But, I am not really going to be consumed by this issue either. If people want to blame him so be it. They were his policies if people hate that, it is their right.
