and Iowans vote in the Iowa caucuses in four months.
Sure polls change, of course. However, there is no doubt in the trajectory of this race. Clinton's support is going off the cliff while support for Sanders is surging.
If you want to compare numbers--At this time during the 2008 caucuses (Fall 2007), Obama was just starting to inch up in the polls. Hillary was far ahead of Obama and Edwards. It wasn't until December that Obama began to lead in these Iowa polls.
The polls show, for now, show a trend toward a Sanders victory.
I'd say she's in big trouble in Iowa. She relies on her name recognition and "inevitability"--both of which appear to be falling flat with Iowans.

(3,764 posts)If Biden runs there is going to be major pushback with the Criminal Justice Reform community, especially the Cannabis reform community. Biden will have to come out strong against his previous positions or he has lost a whole segment of the Democrats and independents.

(13,297 posts)... there seems to be this blind spot in their vision about Bernie Sanders literally being in the lead -- as if this is just a fuzzy spot on the horizon. Very strange.

(533 posts)When we needed to get W out of office we selected Kerry for the nomination and all he did was cup his balls and coward in the corner about some dumb lies about Vietnam that my generation could care less about. Then he had vocal diaria and said stupid shit. Then he didn't fight the election results. He has the stench of loser around him. He should stay at State where he actually does good, not as a stupid robot politician, that takes awkward hunting pictures and sailboating films like a 21-century Dukakis.
He's also another Third Way buffoon who will do nothing but give lip service to the middle and working classes, minorities, and woman, but would concentrate his Presidency emproving the power if corporations and the wealthy. Screw him!
I am for Sanders, but I will vote for Clinton if she got the nod. I will not vote for Kerry ever again; I'll vote green. It doesn't matter, he'll lose anyways. Can you imagine puss boy Kerry versus Trump? Kerry would kiss his feet after Trump growled.

(5,217 posts)on her radio show. Her show on MSNBC bores me. I doubt she ever spoke about TPP. I think she would have been fired by now. Plus, it's verboten.

(446 posts)Last night the only time Bernie was mentioned was to quote him from his Senate speech regarding Iran and a comment about the Syrian refugees. Fair enough and the senate speech was newsworthy, but the total time spent on both was about 30 seconds. But MSNBC won't give him any time on his economic message. And then there's "Morning Joke", a bad one! Liberal network my ass.
Otherwise, parts of the Trump, Cruz, Palin speeches on Iran repeated ad nauseaum. Plenty of time on Hillary and her comments on Iran as there should have been, and then compliments on how she sounded like a neocon. Not sure the latter did her any favors.
MSNBC studiously avoids talking about anything that will threaten the economic or political power structure in this country. Social issues sure, but that won't cost anyone at the top a buck.

The good news: fewer and fewer people watch TV for facts.
There to distract.
I will admit that my wife and I have a soft spot for Rachel. But I don't take anything I see on TV as fact.
I had a friend that came from communist Eastern Europe. She said it was easy there. You knew anything the government put on tv was propaganda and could be ignored. Here there are bits of fact mixed in with the nonsense, though less and less everyday it seems.
Certainly my Son's generation is going elsewhere for their news.

(26,638 posts)It's a good message, an honest message, paid for by me and others like me, not corporations or banks. This is pretty important to me because I believe corporations are pretty much running the world and not doing a very good job of it. Human beings and the environment are being exploited in the most vicious ways by the corporate culture of greed and it's time to say enough.

(3,967 posts)Not the same as a normal election, right? I am guessing Clinton will have a strong organization and plan for that. She may have to do more to energize her supporters before the caucuses. Opposite story for Sanders? In other words, we'll have to wait and see.

While we're waiting, Bernie continues to defy expectations, and that rustles some people's jimmies.

(5,400 posts)What's important is that people are being jolted by the news that they actually have a choice between candidates who are different on some important issues.
The powers that be were hoping that the voters wouldn't have the choice to say no to the status quo of the 1%'s lobbyists calling the shots.
People seeing that choice is how the Sanders campaign will take the 99% to a victory in November 2016.
