Will the county allow the office of county clerk to remain vacant ?

Is there not some sort of contingency that has to be followed by the county in the absence of someone who is unable to perform their duties ?

If she's jailed long enough...(and she should be)... and that time exceeds the time of her elected position how will it play out ?
