Related: About this forumThom Hartmann: Why Is Chris Matthews Comparing Bernie To Mao Tse Tsung?
All Bernie Sanders wants to do is make America more like Scandinavia. So why is MSNBC's Chris Matthews talking about him like he's the next Mao Tse Tsung? The mainstream media is so scared of Bernie Sanders that it's now resorted to fearmongering about how he's a "socialist" who wants the government to take over the economy. Check it out...

(606 posts)I didn't expect him to be doing so well. If he wins the nomination he could destabilize the whole system of institutional graft by ushering in a new era of democratic participation. Or go down in flames, besieged on all sides by a crazed opposition party, a resentful and treacherous party leadership that did not want him to win, and a world that leaps from one crisis to the next (yet never really solves any of them). Good times.

(43,890 posts)It must be considered that there is nothing more difficult to carry out nor more doubtful of success nor more dangerous to handle than to initiate a new order of things; for the reformer has enemies in all those who profit by the old order, and only lukewarm defenders in all those who would profit by the new order; this lukewarmness arising partly from the incredulity of mankind who does not truly believe in anything new until they actually have experience of it.

(60,536 posts)from every damned direction, if he wins the nomination. We need to be aware of this and prepared. I've already seen the flying monkey brigade equating the brand of Democratic Socialism the Senator believes in, to that of Venezuela's late President, Hugo Chavez. Followed with the rhetorical question, "do we want that here in the US??" But you know what? Either one of our reported incidents are, actually, nothing compared to what's going to come down from the GOP if the Senator has the nomination. They were very good with their red baiting; entire Republican political careers were cornerstoned on their excellent red-baiting abilities, e.g., Richard Nixon.

(4,695 posts)army the true hallmark of Communism. Cut straight to the chase and call out the Military Industrial Complex as promoting US imperialism around the world, instead of Diplomacy. Sanders votes against war.

(12,471 posts)It's a totalitarian system with State run capitalism. This is far, far away from true communism, which has NEVER been seen on Planet Earth. Not in the truest sense of the word. We have only been made to believe that there is communism, but there never was. The greedy capitalists just do not like it if state-run corporations, operating on the world market get a piece of their profits.

(24,701 posts)should have this video sent to him and the other "insiders" to let them know that the public / voters are not going to tolerate infomercial propaganda like he is trying to spew--------
If you don't know what your talking about, then ask the person you are attacking for the answer, that is called journalistic responsibility --------------simple.
George did and he was surprised by the answer-----------he had no response and he became flat footed.
And let them answer (and not cut them off like Matthew's does a lot of the time-------------if you don't answer the way he wants he jumps in----------always ).
You do not then ask a another person like Wasserman -Shultz to give a definition, (no offense but she is not Democratic-- Socialist-------not even close)-----------------
And Chuck Todd is another can of worms, and I will leave it at that
Great piece Mr. Hartmann

Hillary is the insider on the Democratic ticket, not Bernie Sanders. Plus, his company was just bought by Comcast.
