No one in this group has any national expierence to speak of and no expierence with foreign policy. I am really not impressed and find the claim that the GOP has a deep bench to be so inaccuate as to be funny.

I agree that Citizens United has changed things and that the Democratic nominee is going to have to work hard to overcome the GOP funding advantage. We are fortunate in that each of this group have some major flaws that can be used in a general election campaign

For example:
(i) Jeb has his family as a major negative and the fact that he may be the dumber brother. Even with $120 million, I have trouble seeing Jeb getting the nomination.
(ii) Walker has a bad track record in Wisconsin and is really not that bright. The fact that Walker got punked by both a reported pretending to be a Koch brother and the climate person over the weekend are not good signs.
(iii) Trump is a blowhard with no governmental expierence. Trump may alienate the Hispanic vote in favor of the Democratic party for a generation.
(iv) Rubio is not a good speaker and is not that bright. Jeb is stealing most of Rubio's natural base of support in Florida
(v) Rand Paul is really weak and is unable to hold onto his father's base.
(vi) Carnival Cruz is nasty and does not hide his mean spirit. This worked in Texas where the Texas GOP like nasty people but will not play well outside of Texas.
(vii) Kaisch is the most dangerous of this group but he has pissed off the Kochs who will do their best to keep him out of the running.
(viii) Santorum-his campaign is already out of money
(ix) Fiorina is a nasty person who will never make it on to the main debate stage
(x) Perry is under indictment and is using campaign funds to pay legal fees. That has to hinder his fundraising.
(xi) Jindal is really unpopular in his home state
(xii) Christie was never going to be the GOP nominee in that he is too nasty. Chriistie's style worked in New Jersey but Christie's style is bad outside of the Northeast. Christie has so many scandals that bridgegate is just one scandal among many
(xiii) Graham is a war monger who is not popular outside his state.
(xiv) Ben Carson is not a good politician and the GOP will never vote for a non-white
(xv) Huckabee is a huckster who is too busy ripping off his followers. Huckabee would be a factor only if the religions right can get their act together and unite behind him. That is unlikely.
(xvi) The rest-there too minor to have a chance.

Again, the claim that the GOP has a deep bench is really funny

Although I just can't see his fellow billionaires letting trump win. Even winning the nomination.

Jeb has the money and the connections

Walker has the Koch's.

Everyone else doesn't provide anything unique enough to overcome that $$$. When Jeb and Walker blanket the airwaves with propaganda, you will see the rest die off politically.

31. Kasich is the strongest general election candidate in this field but he has pissed off the Kochs
Tue Aug 4, 2015, 08:40 PM
Aug 2015

I agree that it is likely to be Walker or Jeb. Both have some significant weaknesses. Kasich is the strongest general election candidate but he pissed off the kochs by expanding Medicaid in Ohio and then lecturing the Kochs and their donors at a Koch event. Kaisch was not invited to the Koch event this weekend.

Jeb has a number of weaknesses including making unforced error like the defunding or cutting women's health care by $600 million. Jeb has been forced to walk this back which is not good.

Walker has a really bad record with the Wisconsin economy that will be used against him. In addition, walker is not that bright and I do not believe that the country is ready for a college dropout to be POTUS (yes, I admit that I am a snob).

for her husband's 83d solar orbit party.

Two of their guests are a couple of ultra-right wing Foxian Rush-based Tea-Baggers.
the other 16 people were liberal, progressive, rational.

Wow. I had several long conversations with them, and eventually, I accused them of being spoon fed by Fox News. Both took offense at that, but they did not deny it.

He repeatedly claimed that all muslims were evil, an they all want their 72 virgins. I pulled out my iPad, which has the Koran (as well as budhist, christian, and other religious texts on it) and showed him my search which disclosed no such bullshit.

Another guest was a retired professor of divinity from a jesuit university. (he and I compared atheist notes) Great guy. Together, we picked apart every argument Mr. Neocon made, despite his immunity from fact and truth.

My favorite quote? "This is one of the strongest groups of candidates I have ever seen. Any one of them could do extremely well as president. Although, Santorum, Rubio, and Perry have to be at the top of our list. That Bush fellow is just too liberal."

Any one of them? I gagged, visibly, when he said that. He thought I caught something in my throat.

and that is called reinforcement of an idea. And with so many candidates repeating the same thing, it is very easy for those who want things to be simple to understand to follow what they are saying, to repeat it yet again to themselves and to "learn" it by heart.

Then there is the appeal to our desire to follow the bandwagon. If so many Republicans who get on TV and therefore must be smart think X
YZ then maybe I this little guy in Kansas who doesn't think that much about politics and prefers game shows and reality shows should think like the Republicans.

We Democrats are making a huge mistake waiting to get our debates started. We are allowing the Republicans to impress voters with their ideas and their candidates. We should be on TV with our candidates in the early Fall. That's a month from now. We should start our debates right around Labor Day if not a bit before

Where is the Democratic National Committee on this?

Out peeing in the weeds no doubt.

12. "The KochBros Bunch"
Tue Aug 4, 2015, 01:02 PM
Aug 2015

New lyrics for an old song--

Here’s the story of a Party
A Party known for hateful policies
They were called the Grand Old Party
And wanted colonies

Here’s the story of two brothers
Who wanted to own the USA
They needed a plan to buy the country
But who would want to play?

Then one day the brothers looked at Repubs
And they knew it was much more than a hunch
They could buy these folks, and run the county
That’s the way they all became the KochBros Bunch

The KochBros Bunch
The KochBros Bunch
The GOP is now the KochBros Bunch!

"The KochBros G.O.P."

They’re creepy and they’re kooky
Mysterious and spooky
They’re all together ooky
The KochBros’ G.O.P.

Their Senate’s a museum
Their House, a mausoleum
So anti-athenaeum
The KochBros’ G.O.P.

(Thugs)
(Mugs)
(Slugs)

They only run for office
To fill their empty pockets
And for the rich, they'll caucus
The KochBros’ G.O.P.

The Addams Family is WAY too clever and smart.... and a lot more likable.

How about "The Invaders".... with Roy Thinnes! (Can any of the candidates move their pinky?)

Or just the friggin' Twilight Zone. "The Monsters are Due on Pennsylvania Avenue"

"Submitted for your approval: A clown car that looks full of clowns. But there are dark dangerous minds behind the makeup...."

Here's the story of a guy named Paul who just kept screaming about monkey pancakes all night long.
