Crazy Candidates Are Destroying The GOP: Is This A Bad Thing?

In order for America to flourish, we need a fully functioning two-party system. It’s part of our checks and balances. But when one of those parties has ceased to resemble anything close to a rational, thoughtful platform for the American people, things begin to fall apart.

Ring of Fire’s Mike Papantonio and Farron Cousins discuss the fall of the GOP.

to destroy Democracy and the Democratic Process, and doing swimmingly well at achieving that goal. This appears to be Phase Four in that program.

Just sayin'.

Where does this idea that America can only have a two party system come from? I realize the current system is rigged for it, but why do so many people think it's some kind of outright, written in stone law?

So many crazies? The billionaires just throw the lure of their money out there, like bloody meat in the water to draw the sharks in for a feeding frenzy, or like drawing a mad swarm of pigeons by throwing out an insane number of bread crumbs?

I think that this is a very interesting explanation or "back story" behind all the craziness that's happening in the Republican field that could explain it all. The lamestream media covers the whole sideshow or soap opera, but never mentions a word as to why the heck it might be happening. Good job, Pap and Farron!

I have been thinking over the past couple of days: Maybe it's time to put those who aspire to the highest office in our land into some kind of a basic educational or training program so that they have a basic minimum of skill and competency that this tough job demands. This might be kind of like the examination system that civil servants in imperial China had to go through. But of course, the course material and qualifications would have to be sufficiently politically neutral and bipartisan. But heck - we need to install some kind of training and qualification system, because maybe it would screen out all these crazy, frivolous candidacies.

What do you guys think of such an idea? I'm throwing it out there, looking for your feedback.
