(8,200 posts)He is absolutely unfit for any journalistic position. His sole job is to lick the asses of the oligarchs. When they announced that the Ed show would be canceled it became apparent that the oligarchs are determined to squash the populist movement that has caught them unaware of its depth and intensity.
Hopefully, they have again miscalculated and will only awakened more of the working class to the fact that a dramatic revolution is afoot and they had better make adjustments or it could become volatile. The unrest is at a fever pitch. The minority African-American and Hispanics have had enough and are fighting back. Their discontent is being matched by the working class who are being facing with extinction. The massive transfer of wealth that has taken place can not be sustained. Perhaps the working class who support their own destruction will finally wakeup and finally realize they are nothing more than hopeless pawns.

Thinking they can be that transparent without Americans catching on greatly insults the intelligence of Americans.

(403 posts)Bernie is articulate, intelligent, and aware of what needs to be done in the U.S. if we are to continue as world leader. It is not about a few billionaires, it is about We The People...

(45,251 posts)That indicates to me a bad faith interview, which has not been a surprise with Toad or MTP as to Democratic interview subjects for a long time. Granted, Russert was not so flat-footed and obvious about it as is Toad. On the other hand, at least Todd did not interrupt Sanders's answers.
Bernie's point about needing to find common ground on weapons if we are to pass anything at all is valid.

(23,867 posts)This is what an intelligent politician sounds like. More than intelligent: caring and knowing.
We have a rare opportunity to alter our economic situation, with Bernie, and even though Americans don't know it yet, we may just get the chance to change the system to stop exploiting us. Most people don't even know what that means. Read Marx. Yes, Marx.

(4,775 posts)Thanks for the link or I would not have bothered to watch it.
People really underestimate Bernie.
He's been presenting his message in contexts where the interviewer doesn't want that message told, and he's been doing it for many years. It's clear he has an excellent skill set for doing so, he doesn't let the interviewer steer things astray, stays on point and hammers it.
That's a great and rare skill to have, good for campaigns and good for being a leader. And he manages to do so without dehumanizing or pissing off the person who is interviewing him, he makes points, not enemies.

(41,144 posts)to be firm yet not overbearing when countering people like Toad. Watching Bernie's skill in this area I find quite impressive; and it can't be learned, it's natural. Do not underestimate Bernie Sanders. Presidential material, absolutely!

(8,377 posts)Too bad that Bernie didn't just say that, but he was probably smart enough to know that if he went there, the next 48 hours of the media dimwit circus would be all about the throwdown between Sanders and Trump.
That's some very good discipline by Bernie. He's a lot better at this than I expected.
