(14,498 posts)... "the billionaires are on the warpath" speech on senate floor.... circa, 2010.
Didn't even have to raise his voice yet produced the most powerful and succinct indictment of politics-as-usual I've heard before or since.
A revelation, if you will.

(41,159 posts)Here's Bernie a few days ago, Wed. July 22 at the Rally for $15 at the US Capitol. Bernie, Rep. Keith Ellison and other lawmakers met with hundreds of federal contract workers who marched down Constitution Ave. to the Capitol carrying signs "$10.10/hr is Not Enough to Support My Family".
The protesters are predominantly black and Latino employees who work as cashiers, cooks, in maintenance and landscaping at federal govt. buildings, offices, and the US Capitol building where they cook and serve Congressmen and Senators. Because they cannot get by now, many employees take second jobs. Sen. Sanders introduced a new national $15 minimum wage bill on Wednesday.
Local ABC report of striking federal contract workers in DC and Capitol Rally for $15, Wed., July 22, 2015
"I worked at the US Capitol and KFC. Colonel Sanders pays me more than Uncle Sam" says Sonita Bailey who is comforted by Sen. Bernie Sanders at the Rally while telling her story of working as a Capitol café cashier.

(5,751 posts)I'm kind of shocked that he had absolutely no mention of #BlackLivesMatter. I love his economic message, but this is one of the greatest social problems of our time. The out of control and racist police departments, as well as the militarization of the police that looks to inhibit our constitutional rights - needs to stop. I want to hear solutions. Look, no one person in eight years can solve racism. Racism will exist for a very long time. But people can propose things that can bring positive change. We need some bright people to think about this. We need presidential candidates to talk about this.

It's really sad he never stood for rights for all, right???
I leave the thread to you now.

(84,711 posts)What has been his involvement with Black Issues? Compare it to Hillary Clinton or the Republicans running in this Election.
Have you asked any of THEM about their position on "Black Lives Mattering?"
