Bill Moyers interview of Michelle Alexander on her book "The New Jim Crow"

Last edited Sun Jul 19, 2015, 09:10 PM - Edit history (1)

After civil rights lawyer Michelle Alexander published her book The New Jim Crow in 2010 on our dehumanizing system of incarceration, she ignited a national conversation about justice in America and sparked a movement. In her book, Alexander explores how the war on drugs, “get-tough” sentencing policies and racism has created a caste system similar to that of our segregationist past.

There is a video of the interview at the link below, and there is also a link to the transcript.

This is really a great video to watch. It is only 35 minutes long and well worth watching.

I didn't know if this should be posted in videos, since you have to watch it at Moyer's site and I don't know how to embed it. So if this needs to be moved, I apologize.

Edited to add youtube video of the same video
