Kid Spokesman for Focus on The Family Wants SCOTUS Put in Time Out

Focus on the Family’s latest temper tantrum over the arrival of nationwide marriage equality might be its most desperate yet.

Focus on the Family, the Colorado-based antigay group that claims it advocates for “traditional” families, took a bizarre approach to voice its latest round of discontent with the Supreme Court’s landmark June ruling that brought marriage equality to all 50 states.

A special message from FOTF’s public policy arm, CitizenLink, features a fifth-grade boy who, as the self-proclaimed “next generation,” argues that the five justices who ruled for marriage equality deserve a time out. That would give them some time to think about what they’ve done and, as the boy in the video suggests, “maybe [read] the Constitution?”

“There’s some people who want the government to be a bully, you know the kind that calls you names then steals you lunch or your house or your business,” says the host of the segment titled “Stoplight.” “I think five of the Supreme Court justices should be put in time out. Maybe they could use that time to read a little, like maybe the Constitution?”

After providing a grade-school lesson on government spending and why you shouldn’t believe politicians who promise you “free cellphones or healthcare,” our host concludes with an important warning about the ways religious freedom is being suppressed in modern America.

..that at least a third of the federal budget is military, VA, homeland security, intelligence and the nuclear weapons part of the DoE. He also doesn't mention that money comes also from taxing businesses, which are moving offshore to hide from taxes and the percentage of the budget paid by businesses is at a record low. Oh and that the Saudi's lend us big money as well. But I guess that is in the sixth grade.

Oh and for fuck sake get that goober some braces. Or is good dental health to modern for you.

"Where Are They Now," segment that some group will do about him that will show he's a successful, liberal-minded person like that Johnathan Krohn kid who spoke at CPAC 2009. The conservative mindset can be distilled down pretty well to appeal to 5th-graders - bullies taking your stuff, etc. But by 6th grade, if things are explained to him a bit more, he'll start turning liberal. Education tends to do that.

Look to see his first book published by this time next year.

He'll be a best selling author by the time he's 13. By 15 he'll have a Phd from Liberty University specializing in Faith Based Foreign Policy.

It's basically child abuse. There are thousands of kids like him in this town, who are never allowed to mingle with anyone outside their families' circle of church contacts, never allowed to experience anything other than scripture, white dominionism, and endless RW brainwashing.

You see them on Sunday mornings, peering out of the darkened back windows of mommy vans, on their way up I-25 to New Life Church cult meetings. They are pretty much prisoners. I pity them, their parents, and that tiny worldview.

Why anyone would choose a lifestyle that wears blinders 24/7, I will never understand.

I was never so glad to see the Welcome to California sign and asked if I had any fruits and vegetables. The only fruit I smuggled in was myself. This echoes one of the cliche' things I heard ad nauseum about my living in the land of fruits and nuts. There were presumptive "facts" spewed at me about my life out there where they boink on the beaches and have daily orgies. Gee, I sure wanted to know where this place is, sounds like fun. But alas, these presumptions are coming from people who have never even set foot in my home state.
But since I wanted to go out one weekend evening to a local gay club in the Springs, it was notable the picket sign holding bunch at the driveway took a picture of my license plate as I drove in.
I found this interesting. A bar patron asked me if that happened, and explained this was Focus on Other People's Family collection of information. According to this person, I'm now on their "people going to hell" list.
Truly my experiences there with the antediluvian "conservatives", including the one who shot his wife to death then commited suicide two doors down on my brief visit did make things interesting if nauseating. The hateful bumper stickers on hundreds of oversized pick-em-up trucks, and one who even scratched mostly illegible Obama-hate into the paint on his tailgate did not cease to astound. I could hardly find radio station I could stomach. country-god-country-top40-country-god-country.
I was glad to conclude the business with my parents demise and leave the area behind in my rear view mirror.
