Obama Awards Billions To Worst American Companies

During his 2008 campaign, President Obama promised us that, if elected, he would give us a system of transparency the likes of which had never been seen in American politics. Here we are, 7 years later, and we’re still waiting for that system to be put in place.

Luckily, some groups are tired of waiting, and they’re now calling for action.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

I think he HAS delivered on that promise. We ARE, in fact, experiencing a transparency - the likes of which we've not seen before. It's horrible "transparency" and that's what he had in mind. The looming TPP is a PERFECT example of how this swindler has bamboozled us all!

7. Is that the best you can do? Pathetic. How about responding to the actual issues?

Don't worry. I'm not holding my breath.

In 2012 ... 17 of the top 100 recipients of government contracts were listed as some of the worst polluters in America. These companies included General Electric (2nd in the U.S. at the time for air pollution), Shell, Exxon, Halliburton, and BP.

And in terms of spending on lobbying and direct campaign donations, these corporations are also at the top of that list.

... we now have a system in place that not only refuses to punish polluters, but actually rewards them with tax breaks, deferred prosecutions, and even multi-million dollar federal contracts.

Groups Encourage Transparency, Ask Obama For Honesty About Corporate Spending

Would you like to try to make the country a better place? Or would you prefer to waste your time ignoring, deflecting, and attacking inconvenient truths? (Don't worry: Those are rhetorical questions.)

8. How about limiting your Demonization of Obama to the crazy wingnut sites that appreciate it so.

What is PATHETIC is name calling posing as "actual issues."

If I were to call you a swindler, my post would be hidden. Because it is an assholish thing to say.

Thanks for the link. I see the Sierra Club and other groups doing great work,,it sounds like a very good letter.

And yet none of the signatories stoop to demonizing Obama or calling him a "swindler".
