Hillary Clinton Comments Directly on Bernie Sanders' Crowds to ABCNews

"...I always knew this was going to be competitive and I want to have a great debate..."

____________

Fair enough. I personally am glad the Democratic Party is going to be having a deep dialogue on the future of our country and hopefully the conversations had on the campaign trail will continue to respond to the progressive leanings of the party and American public in general! Especially as the 4th of July kicks off the weekend.

Happy 4th of July Everyone at DU!!!

There's no reason to tear each other down. Debate the issues, sure! Any tear down belongs targeted at the GOP, though.
They're the ones with most of the failed policies.

federal funding for bursaries, increased funds for public colleges and universities to lower the tuition...and hopefully the resultant policy will be a massive improvement...that will be the kind of civilized debate on policy that they will hold - unlike anything on DU.

people are feeling about a political system that has abandoned them.

He's talking about issues that have been ignored by both parties for too long. The insane cost of a college education for our kids. A 1,120 percent increase in thirty years! Endless war! Unfair tax structure! Too big to fail banks! Job killing trade agreements like NAFTA and the TPP! Taxing the rich!

Hillary's not going to be able to rely on platitudes and generalities.. A few social issues aren't going to be enough!
Agreed Bernie's participation has already been positive!

Let's face it; most politicians make their career in the verbal dance... deflecting, redirecting and evading.
Bernie tends to cut through all that.

I do love his Authenticity! I really enjoy listening to him on the Thom Hartman show.

I do think there's a lot of anger and frustration as well. I hear so much frustration about the government on line and from family and friends.. Bernie himself has commented on it.

The nutjobs in the GOP are not only losing their minds, they are losing their traditional base, including older voters, minorities, women and social moderates (not to mention sane, thoughtful Americans of every stripe).

Nothing could be further from the truth than Hillary expecting this nomination to be competitive. She fully expected this nomination to be handed to her with little or no competition but now she has her hands full. And to top that her campaign team doesn't know what to do about it.

Clinton realizes it looks better for her if there is a debate, opposing candidates, etc. That makes her look a little nicer, as if she doesn't have this huge juggernaut campaign organization that crushes everything in its path. Save that for the Republicans.
