Related: About this forumWhite CA Cops Caught On Video Brutally Beating Restrained Black Man (VIDEO)
A California Lyft driver posted a horrific video that seems to show two Stockton, California police brutally beating a restrained African-American suspect.
This is what Stockton police department its becoming to fuck that shit, writes Benjamin Reyes in his Facebook post. Just seen this in front of my house
The incident appears to occur at a traffic stop. At the beginning of Reyes clip, one of the officers punches the restrained man in the face.
The other whips out his baton and delivers a devastating blow to the mans knee followed by another, and another, and another, and another, and, after taking careful aim for the back of the mans knee
another.
The woman in the drivers seat of the car screams, Stop resisting! but the man is clearly doing anything but that.
As the man seems to involuntarily convulse from the pain, an officer repeatedly tells him to stop resisting before he begins delivering baton blows to what appears to be the mans head 1-2-3.
The officers roll the man over and, panicked, the woman in the drivers seat of the car once again yells for him to stop resisting. However, at this point it is obvious that the man is not actively resisting the police.
Help the other officer put your hands behind your back, one of the Caucasian cops tells him.

(16,286 posts)appropriately.
And while it will be appropriate, it will shock the hell out of the community doing this to them.
The rule is if you resist at all, even if just vocally, then you deserve to be beaten to death

(18,124 posts)just out of control on some kind of power trip, especially against POC. It's getting pretty fucking old. And it is getting worse, especially for POC. Just have to be black, male, female, child to get this kind of treatment or death. Don't know Randys1, what the outcome this long hot summer will have except more dead and abused black people at the hands of the authorities of the PTB.

(1,241 posts)me, well I guess I'm going to jail too. Because I refuse to just stand by and watch any person be beat. I will holler and scream and threaten and call them cowards and where is your fucking honor until they stop or start beating this old man. This is why they are called pigs and get no respect.

(53,918 posts)And another one is "stop reaching for my gun".
There are so many of these videos now you start to see the patterns. These must be the phrases rogue cops have shared on their web sites/get togethers as their tickets to cover their asses when they beat and klil black people because these same "words" keep being repeated all over the country.
And I've said this before in other posts that these rogue cops must be 'slow' or something because video cameras are everywhere now but they still keep beating and killing as if it's still the pre-cell phone video era.

(7,369 posts)Get two of your friends, go out back so people cant see you, wouldn't want anyone to get into trouble. You and another try to take down the other person, put them on their stomach with their hands behind their back. Have the "offender" fight as hard as they can. Do this and then imagine the "offender" trying to actually get away and maybe hurt you and others. If you don't get this then you have never had to restrain someone. This is not the movie world, sorry. There are actually times the police abuse their authority, and it happens too much too often. But to call every instance police abuse just helps reinforce the stereotype progressives have. So go ahead try it, videotape it and share it on this thread, please. Show me just how easy it is for 2 people to restrain one person. Call a local police officer and see if you can do it to them, two against one. Your kids wresting coach, baseball coach, anyone even remotely fit. Our police officers are not jackie chan and bruce lee.

(53,918 posts)They're yelling for him to put his hands behind his back while one has his knee and all his weight on his back a physical impossibility would'd you say?
Nice try though in making excuses for the abusive cops.

(7,369 posts)it is possible the cops are holding the guys arms so he cant put them behind his back, that they are holding him up so he cant get on the ground. Anythings possible.

(8,409 posts). . . and the man was clearly not resisting!

(1,245 posts)But the guy WAS resisting, and if you don't understand that, then the definition of a simple word clearly eludes you.
You really don't have to be throwing blows to be 'resisting', you just have to 'not cooperate'. In the beginning you can clearly see that the cops are trying to get the dude to put his hands behind his back, and he's clearly not doing so, rather, he's using all his muscle to strain against their efforts to put his arms behind him.
Also, anyone who can withstand four baton blows to the thigh/knee region like that and not collapse to the ground is high or drunk out of their tree, and is CLEARLY 'resisting'. NOT that this alone is just cause for the p*gs doing what they did, I'm just sayin'.
Personally I think that, outside very extenuating circumstances, the law should say that if someone is resisting, if there's only 1 or 2 officers on the scene, then these officers job should simply be to act to hold the person until an overwhelming force can arrive on the scene, rather than putting it on 1 or 2 guys to affect the arrest.
If that takes the officer(s) drawing their guns and saying "I/we will shoot you if you flee", fine. That's better than beating the f**k out of someone because the officers numbers are insufficient to actually arrest someone without beating them.
