To wife, girlfriends, one-night stands, unwilling objects of his "affections":
"What, you're pregnant? Hie thee to the doctor At The End Of The Road."

To all others:
"What sluts. You deserve the worst for your behavior."

what he had in mind. They know what's right, and even if they don't practice what they preach, they are still correct to try and force others too. He said it. I can't see any other way to interpret that.

I can see applying that kind of logic to situations where there is a clear right and wrong. As if I were once a heroin addict and telling people they shouldn't do it. Having learned my lesson, I wouldn't feel to hypocritical about something like that. This asshat needs to STFU though!

Why can't it have a post about a Democrat doing something good?

I disagree that our focus should be on mocking Republicans. They don't care what we say, and we have no chance of changing how they behave.

However, Democrats should care about what we say, and since we are their base, we have a chance of changing how they behave.

I find these kinds of posts to be the lowest common denominator of political discussion - go to any ostensibly "liberal" site and it's the same story. I just don't see them serving any purpose other than click bait.

Maybe there have been instances but it would be the rare exception. Hell, Republicans have even been trying to restrict access to birth control.

In conclusion,
Republicans and Democrats are not the same on women's issues. Not even on the same planet.

Wed May 20, 2015, 12:04 AM

Really now - what can you expect from a guy who looks like Uncle Fester from the Addams Family? The guy is caught in his own self-made trap of shame, sin and guilt for what he has done, and he's trying to assuage his own personal guilt by advocating for abortion bans, and making us pay the price.

But hey, wait a minute - if his Lord and Savior Jesus paid the ultimate ransom for all his sins on the cross at Calvary according to his fundamentalist theology, why in the heck does he even need us, the American public, to be the scapegoats to assuage his guilt? Didn't Jesus already let him off the hook? Could someone please explain that one to me?

All this reminds me of a comical discussion I had with some young Romanians on the beach on the Black Sea coast, in the early '90s, right after the fall of communism. I told this young Romanian guy the story about Jimmy Swaggart, and how he got caught with his pants down seeing prostitutes, and how he made his tearful, lip biting apology on national TV saying, "My Lord, I have sinned against you!" The guy's jaw dropped, and he stared at me in incredulous disbelief for the longest time. When he finally spoke, I'll never forget the words that came out of his mouth: "...but I thought that America was an advanced nation!"
