Church Attendance Will Plummet 50 Percent If Gay Marriage Is Legalized, Glenn Beck Predicts

“If this goes through, persecution is coming,” Glenn Beck cautioned listeners of his hate show last week. “I mean serious persecution!”

He was talking about same-sex marriage, of course. According to Beck (and absolutely no one else) the government is intent on legalizing gay marriage so it can launch a secret mission to strip churches of their tax exempt status if they refuse to perform same-sex weddings.

“Mark my words,” Beck babbled. “If gay marriage goes through the Supreme Court and gay marriage becomes fine and they can put teeth in it so now they can go after churches, like the president’s lawyer says, 50% of our churches will fall away!”

How long will it take for Christians to abandon their places of worship?

“Within five years,” Beck predicted, claiming that “the stigma of going to church will be too much” for some Christians, who do not want to risk their jobs, livelihoods and reputations. “They’ll say, ‘I can’t do that, I’ll lose my job, people are picketing my house, I just can’t do that,” Beck said.

the neighborhood church. Mega churches are gathering those left.

The 1% or about 430 families hardly attend church. Beck is making excuses for the churches as they are getting unable to squeeze the hoarded money out of the rest of the 1% takers. The poor masses that used to attend church have no money to give to help keep the doors open after 35 years of stagnate wages and inflation.

In Beck's universe, it is persecution to take away favored status.

Like, whites are persecuted by unruly progressives trying to lessen the consequences of white privilege in society.

The rich are persecuted by taxes that are used to build infrastructure that the poor are also allowed to use.

At last I get it.

Return to going to church and would add contributions to the churches. When the issue of same sex marriage is resolved perhaps the churches can raise hell about other things or open their arms in accepting everyone like church members should.

Many are tired of the bronze age dogmas and demonetization of their friends and neighbors (this hold especially true for the RCC/Southern Baptists).

that is so easily corrupted? Something as innocuous as marriage equality for all, and they're gonna chuck it all? Doesn't sound like their faith was firmly rooted from the get-go. Sounds to me like an insult against Christians from Clown Blecch.

It seems to me that the sincerely devout would give anyway, so he's saying 50% of America's 'Christians' are hypocrites? How insulting to Christians!

Hey, Glenn, I have an idea.

Maybe if you wouldn't constantly try to radicalize Christians there would less of a stigma associated with going to church.

Many people don't like being thought of as Fascists and bigots.

Has the Catholic Church been forced to perform Jewish weddings?

That's the example I gave to my friend's mom - who supports and loves her gay daughter but fears legalized gay marriage will result in churches having to perform ceremonies they object to performing.

I got a glazed over dumb look.
