When the Dems have a majority *just enough* Dems can always be found to cross the floor and vote with the Republicans on economic/military matters, so Dem policies get stonewalled. Every time. That doesn't happen on the Republican side. That's why Republicans totally rule on economic/military matters.

I called B.S., but more suggested that any family farmer that is concerned about this might wish to consult a Business Organization attorney ... concern resolved.

19. Rethugs WANT deficits. Rethugs NEED deficits.
Fri Apr 17, 2015, 01:01 PM
Apr 2015

The only way to shrink government to a size that can be "drowned in a bathtub" is to de-fund government, and that means Huge. Budget. Deficits.

Rethugs are NOT deficit hawks. They just play deficit hawks on TV. It's tempting to call them idiots because their policies produce huge deficits (the opposite of what they say) but I think the actual results (Huge. Budget. Deficits.) are what they wanted in the first place because that's the only way they can implement their long term agenda.

They want to overturn FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society, but Social Security and Medicare are very popular. Campaigning to directly eliminate those programs would be political suicide, so their strategy is to make them unaffordable and force the public to accept some "tough choices" (which always fall on the backs of those least able to afford economic sacrifice).

I had to pay taxes this year to subsidize a life style of the rich and famous among the elite in Congress and in the country.
And to add to this disgrace they just came off of a two week vacation out of the 35 days off that they have been on vacation so far this year, making $14,500 a month and doing absolutely nothing.
Then having a yearly salary of $174,000 a year to give tax breaks---while I, have family members out of work and they haven't passed one jobs bill or extended unemployment benefits going on six years and three years now respectively which they and (millions more ) have paid into for 35 years and are in the same third country boat we are heading into too.
Nice job to the hypocrites and to John Boehner for doing nothing.
Oh boy, did you get any more tobacco lobbyists money to hand out on the floor of the house like you did in 1996--you should have been forced to resign back then

..... I dutifully paid my inheritance tax...which was the biggest check I had ever written.

But guess what! After I paid my taxes, I still had plenty of money! Huh!!!

Yes, the tax bill for millions in inheritance is hefty... duh!.... but it is nowhere near bankrupting... or even life-style changing. (and this bill wouldn't have affected me.... I didn't get that much)

Pay your damn taxes. You wouldn't have so much if not for the country you comfortably live in. Give back a little.

And I for one don't want to be wealthy in a banana republic. I want a quality country.... with fine infrastructure and excellent education....and an educated citizenry.... that even spends money on arts and parks and... y'know, things that make for a quality life OF THE WHOLE COUNTRY.
I wish the government would spend it more wisely.

Just more evidence that the right is dead set on turning the US upside down to shake any cash free remaining with the 99%.

Maher made a great point recently about the right's talk about how hard work can turn around young people - and how this would be good for that jerk Hilton heir who played the "do you know who I am?" card when misbehaving on a flight. Hard work would do that rich brat some good, that's for sure.

Push has to come to shove at some point as the oligarchs rob us blind - there are 99 of us for every one of them, if people ever wake up from being played or not paying attention watch out.
