1. I know the reason....

To the word "Iran" Republicans think "Ayatollah Khomeini" who was Reagan's enemy.

Therefore Reagan's Holy Spirit demands we treat Iran as the enemy as part of our national religion of Reagan worship.

(Never mind that Reagan sold them arms and had a deal with them on the sly to hang on to the hostages until he got sworn in.)
