Rick Santorum: 'Yes We Can' Put The Bible Back In Public Schools (Right Wing Watch)

3/16/2015 11:06 am

In a speech Saturday to the far-right Awakening conference organized by Liberty Counsel, Rick Santorum told the audience of pastors and activists that it was up to them to save America by, in part, getting Bibles back in public schools.

Without it you look like a right wing troll, as your post stands, it implies that you do want to abolish public schools.

use the right bible

Here is my story of a Catholic growing up in public school when they read from the bible each morning

They used the King James version of the bible, not a catholic bible. and afterwards we had to say the lord's prayer - the King James Version - duh not the same as catholic prayer - I had to go to catechism after school and the nuns did not take kindly for me using the wrong words in the lord's prayer - but if you say one prayer every day it is hard to remember you are supposed to say something different on Sunday. All in all I was glad when they stopped praying in school.

If he is too ignorant to know this (his kids went to computer school instead of real school) well, just why does he think he should make decisions for others.

Catholic or Protestant?

Catholic, I'm sure, since that's what he is. But it's not what most Americans are. Will he be satisfied with Bibles in public schools that represent a religion that is not his?

see a bible in any of the schools.
Bibles were for church. Reading, history, math, and science books are for school.

Anyone can carry around or read a Bible privately. They just cannot force others to listen or read it. He's a moran.

When we had Bible reading in school in the early 60's, there was always an argument over which version was going to be read. Every day someone took a turn at reading, and the Catholic kids did not want to listen to or read from the King James version. The Jehovah's Witnesses did not recite or stand for the Pledge to the Flag.

It was so much better when Bible reading was discontinued.

It does seem as if Lil' Ricky has pretty much given up on the presidential nomination for next year. Ya gotta give him credit though, he's got his beliefs and he doesn't waiver from them. God led the Founding Fathers to establish a "Christian" nation (regardless of how misled some, like Jefferson were). The evil left wing has taken the Bible out of our schools and that's the whole problem with the U.S.A.
