Scaffolding Falling Off Building Downtown Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — Mudslides and uprooted trees — scaffolding from buildings falling on cars — all a result of high winds and rainy weather across the Portland metro area Sunday.

Portland Police and Portland Fire & Rescue responded to several reports of large trees down, blocking roads throughout the city.

A woman driving near SW Park Avenue and SW Market Street was hit by a falling tree Sunday afternoon. Rescue officials were able to remove her from the car and she was taken to OHSU with traumatic injuries.

The woman miraculously escaped with no broken bones and received only minor injuries and a concussion, officials said. She was inches away from death, had the tree landed differently. The bulk of the tree landed just behind her headrest.

Crews worked late Sunday night to restore power to approximately 22,000 customers affected by the wind storm, PGE said, down from about 71,000 affected during the day.

for all these smart phones and their ability to record real time events. So much can't be hidden anymore. I think this is one reason net neutrality is going to be a bigger issue after 2016 IF a repubthug is elected POTUS. Just speculation.
