Damn, Franken got him good here. But all you ever see is the part where O'Reilly does his "Hey SHADAP!" routine.

O'Reilly's answer to every difficult situation is bullying; he seldom has the stones to dig in for the fight. On his own show, it's "Cut his mic! Cut his mic!" On others, he walks away.

And, yes, he's a liar, but no one gives a shit except the people obsessed with hating him.

DU has been obsessing with the latest O'Reilly dust up for an entire week or more.

Yeah. Obsessed with hating him. He was called out for his lies a million times before, and he's completely bulletproof. His books sell. His program is insanely popular.

His fan base just doesn't care about his lies. Just us.

This is a news discussion site. He's in the news. He's a parody of a newsman. More like a joke. I'm guessing the latest will taint his tattering bulletproof facade and ultimately, he'll go away.

The more liberals hate him, the more his fan base love him.

I don't know why DU keeps giving him free advertising.

On the other hand, Franken is dead on in his criticism of O'Reilly.

I saw Hendrix live in '69. The only thing that has compared since has been Willie Nelson or the Flatlanders.

I saw him live in Dallas, Texas 1969 (under the influence of purple psilocybin). It greatly shaped my life philosophy.

There were many more from our era, I just didn't get to see them live.

That's why I say the same for Willie and The Flatlanders. Great musicians, great philosophers.

Our age is definitely showing. I have to say though, that my kids and grandchildren all agree, that the best music has a message. They always are raiding my vast LP collection.

the plutocrat's/GOP's propaganda machine.

The narrative should be that:

1. NBC fired Brian Williams because they're a real news organization that's concerned about their credibility., and

2. Bill O'Reilly is twice the bullshit artist that Williams ever was, but Fox will NEVER fire him because they're NOT a news organization, they're a propaganda machine, and are NOT concerned about their credibility.

I had a difficult time watching these videos. It was obvious Schroeder was having a difficult time moderating. I don't think I could be in the same room as Billo, since I'd want to duct tape his nasty mouth shut.

I watched the first one right after it aired, and I couldn't get over how vicious and rude is Billo. At this point, perhaps he is struggling with his burgeoning irrelevance.

(I think it's great how much Franken's assertions about Billo hit the mark--then AND now.)

a few years later, Bill-O is still using volume to deflect from his B.S. artistry....while Franken, on the other hand, IS A FREAKIN' United States SENATOR.

It cheers me up no end to imagine how much it must irk Bill to have to refer to Franken in the third person as "Senator Franken." Not that he does it very often, but every time he does you can see him cringe.

I think it's just so amazing that when I read Franken's book, the last chapter was a SATIRE on what he would do 'when' he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2008...and it actually ended up coming TRUE!
