Last Week Tonight with John Oliver - Elected Judges

While it is funny, it is a very troubling issue that I credit John Oliver for raising. Interesting when the attorney says when a judge comes to you when they solicite for donations he says "you can't say no".

The campaign ads are scary, in Arizona we elect judges but all we have is a survey (a very good one -- Arizona Commission on Judicial Review) mostly from attorneys & others with direct knowledge of the judge on ratings on a variety of questions but lacks details. Low marks or noticeable lower than average on "fairness", "discrimination", etc will cause me a no vote, one judge had the lowest by far in those categories which led me to do some research and this was the first hit. What I'm saying is I'm very disconnected from all this so it is very shocking but not surprising report from John Oliver.
