(6,891 posts)graduate debt free because of the schools financial aid package. It's one of the perks of a tax exempt $36 billion endowment that returns an average 15% on investments focused primarily in elite hedge funds and private equity firms. Not only is the endowment tax exempt but the school is allowed to issue tax exempt municipal bonds to wealthy donors at taxpayer expense. Public universities are the places students run up large debts.

(2,065 posts)Because the leftie students didn't confront the Faux News interviewer with a sound logical explanation for their conclusions and left the interviewer with no way to refute their conclusions. If that had happened in the clip, the video really would have lived up to its billing!
By the way - I'm SO SICK AND TIRED of those ridiculous and absurd pop-ups that come up on the vast majority of videos that I see on DU. You know, the one that asks, "Should the GOP fight Obama on gun control?" That is so ridiculous, moronic and irrelevant, especially on a site like this.
And so, I am doing a little poll: How many are OK with this ridiculous pop-up? How many of you are totally sick of it, like I am?

(18 posts)I think it is reasonable to take this seriously... regardless of how sad it is. I read that there are Republican lawmakers in the south trying to ban AP History, and even AP classes all together. My daughter is taking an AP English class and it takes my breathe away when i see how she is being challenged She is 16 and a sponge. She needs this. It is making her a better, stronger person. She is growing.
The quest to dumb down kids is very sad to me. Normally politics from the right makes me mad, but on this it just makes me sad... to try to diminish those who want to think more. I think Fox News is laying the groundwork for another front: War on young people thinking, period. They know young people won't vote for them if they become aware so stop it.
It is so dangerous for our country that the GOP is willing to tear down everything that would make us competitive and good in the world, other than arms.
