(3,894 posts)Now don't misunderstand the general refusal to do anything but say "no" isn't what I'm talking about, but surely both (nay all) sides have meetings to strategize about how to thwart the opposition. I've not recalled seeing it then implemented as well as it has the past 3+ years, but Obama has made most of that pretty easy in that he has tried too hard and too soon to cede the middle ground.

(8,053 posts)He's an apologist for the thugs. He tows the line of the false equivalency of "both sides do it". One side has had the majority in the house and enough of a hold in the senate as to render a simple majority as not enough to get legislation passed--you need a super-majority of 60 votes to get anything passed. So there is no such things as "both sides do it". It is a made up fantasy by apologists.

(856 posts)My thoughts exactly SemperEadem. This was a brilliant expose of the Republican Party's true agenda & confirmed my sense that they are out to destroy our democracy. That group could care less about the working class. I am so happy that Lawrence called Newt Gingrich the "disgraced former House Speaker" & quoted Gingrich "Remember that the seeds of 2012 have been planted today". American voters wake up & vote in historic numbers this November!!!.
