Secular Talk- Glenn Beck: Anti-Vaxxers Are Like Galileo

Glenn Beck, the ultra-conservative, needlessly troll-y commentator and founder of The Blaze, joined the national vaccination debate (why this is an actual thing is lost on me). With his comments, Beck did the verbal equivalent of throwing gasoline on a fire and running away giggling...

Perhaps, Glenn, it wasn't properly diagnosed as such. I recall a time when consumption killed a lot of people because the medical field couldn't properly diagnose TB, chronic bronchitis, emphysema or a whole slew of lung problems. How many of those 5,000 really had autism but it wasn't recognized as such? Probably the child who was autistic 20 years ago was labelled as a "slow learner" or given another label and largely ignored. If there is more refined techniques in ID'ing a child now, of course the percentage of being recognized as autistic would increase.
