Still waiting on my settlement just like thousands of others. What about those numbers you prick.

(17,997 posts)I know you are not alone. It's atrocious that such a rich company can screw so many people without consequences. It may not be the new America, but it sure is exaggerated from years past. Corpocracy at its finest.
Just curious, have you read any Greg Palast on this subject? He is the authority when it comes to BP failings.
dinger130
(199 posts)but I will. BP had the police visit me at my office and at home. Said they were worried that I would commit suicide. They will go to any lengths. It was a nightmare and it is still ongoing. I'm still here and I will never be quiet.
I sold my home on the water (17 years), closed my business in Gulf Shores (11 years) and moved to Kentucky. Too many people rolled over.... I won't.

(17,997 posts)That's horrible! I'm so very sorry. Just horrendous!
I bet Palast would love to hear your story.
Here's a link to one of the kazillion articles he wrote on BP. This shows how it was BP, not ExxonMobil that was responsible for the Valdez disastrous spill.

(750 posts)No religious Test shall ever be required as Qualification Better the core of the Constitution forbade Congress to make any law "respecting an establishment of religion."
Did we see what happened here? Joe Barton openly with defiance took a sequence of the perfect number six denounced it as wicked and evil. True many do think that.
Does this illustrate that Joe Barton is the voice of God. The radiant right connected to God to write rules of man. We can bet on it do a search and find the mark of the beast symbolically identifies those who let the political system rule their lives. And Joe Barton is playing the game.
This reminds of an old cowboy movie where that Texas Ranger has the right to go anywhere arrest anyone who broke law in Texas however no such laws or condemnation are recognized in any other state.
Just think of all the perverted legislation this Texas Congress persona or many others make that are testing the religious reasoning which is antithetical to the basic Constitution. It is not cruel to say just skip that number. But no make sensational grandstanding, play his bible base against the rest of America.

(11,843 posts)It is seen as a location between worlds where the supernatural can take place. Deals with the devil can be brokered with summoned demons. Makes as much sense as fearing the number 666, but I find it interesting that the religious right seems to have no issues giving/accepting money to/from Turd Blossom's American Crossroads Super Pac. Fearful of having a bill numbered 666, yet perfectly willing to make a deal with the devil at the crossroads...

(21,767 posts)As reported in National Geographic, ancient scrolls pre-dating the Bible have been translated, and the true number of the Beast is 616.
By the way, according to American Christian fundamentalists, the Great Beast is USA government. Obama is not the Anti-Christ per se, but merely an agent of the Beast. Somehow, Republican Presidents (and other elected Republicans) get a pass on this issue.
Paying your taxes is known as "feeding the Beast".

(113,315 posts)Hex
A term or word designating a witchs spell which has a long historical association with the connotation of the number six. The Greek hex, and the Latin sex cognate with the Egyptian seven, "to embrace, to copulate." Six almost universally represzented the number of sex, representing the union between the Triple Goddess and her trident-bearing consort, which is why Christian authorities labeled six "the number of sin." Pythagoreans, on the other hand, called six the perfect number, or The Mother. One of its Egyptian forms seshemu, "sexual intercourse" shown in hieroglyphics by male and female genitals in conjunction survived in the Sufi love-charm designed to open the "cave" of the Goddess: Open, Sesame.
The hexagonal hex signs include the six-pointed Tantric yanta of love. The name of the sign comes from the Pennsylvania Dutch, who borrowed the word from their native German word for "witch." Hexe, which in turn is from the Old High German hagazussa or hagzissa ("hag" .
A triple six, 666, was the magic number of Triple Aphrodite (or Ishtar) in the guise of the Fates. The Book of Revelation called it "the number of the Beast" (Revelation 13:18). After Solomon met the Queen of Sheba he acquired 666 talents of gold (I Kings, 10:14). In Christian literature the 666 has been referred to as Satans number, but the recurrences of the number in esoteric traditions is frequently surprising. The maze at Chartres Cathedral, for example, was planned to be 666 feet long.
The Egyptians considered 3, 6 and 7 most sacred numbers. Three represented the Triple Goddess, six meant her union with God; seven meant the Seven Harthos, seven planetary spheres, seven-gated holy city, seven-year reigns of kings, and so forth. Egyptians were obsessed with the conviction that the total number of all deities had to be 37, because of the numbers magical properties. This was because it combined the sacred numbers of 3 and 7; and, 37 multiplied by any multiple of 3 gave a triple digit or "trinity": 111, 222, 333, 444, 555, etc. The miraculous number 666 is the product of 3 X 6 X 37
