The homophobic laws, the cult of personality, the closing down of the free press, Putin's years in power that show know end, the use of war and external/internal enemies to consolidate power, the combination of government and corporations/oligarchs in a kleptocracy (Putin is now one of the richest men in the world, did you know that?), the use of government-connected groups, from Nashi to the skinheads, to intimidate, control, harass, and even attack/kill opponents...These are all elements of fascism that are present in Putin's government.

The OP was a news show with important information, especially more so in light of your posts, about Europe dealing with their own problems. Russia is strongly tied economically with the North Europeans so they cannot afford to emphasize whatever the condition of Russia at this time. Kind of like us with the Saudis.

My fear is that the US will stick our noses/taxpayers money/arms willy-nilly into a mix we know little about...just because we can.

And as far as corporations owning the government...I won't go Kleptocracy, but surely Corporatocracy...we're on track here.
