Wait until we are in dire straits and then MAYBE try and deal with the issue. By then it will be far too late, but that is another thing we do so well. Wait until we cannot do shit about it or whatever IT is has run its course and done all the damage that can be done. In this case, world collapse.

Oddly, they call 50 of those 80 people "self-made," and only 11 inherited their wealth, while 19 inherited wealth and made it grow. They must have a very different idea of "self-made" from the rest of us. Rupert Murdoch is listed as "self-made," since he only inherited 2 newspapers and a radio station from his father, and turned it into a massive media empire. Carlos Slim likewise had wealthy parents, who taught him about investing at the age of 12, and he started at a job in his father's company.

Some of the richest billionaires really did start from nothing. Those examples are what Republicans point to and say, "See? There's plenty of financial mobility."

... once upon a time. Today? Not so much.

And their arguments are composed of such logical fallacies. On "Face the Nation" yesterday, Marco Rubio said that "one group of people does not have to do worse for another group to do better," and, in a way, he was right - but NOT in the way he meant. He meant "you don't have to take money from the rich to make the poor better off", but we DO! (Where else is it going to come from??)

Where he's absolutely right is that NOBODY is REALLY going to do any "worse" - except on paper. The standard of living of Chuck & Dave Koch will not change one iota due to the tax increase. Maybe they'll rake in fewer millions next year than they did last year, but as long as you're raking in millions, what's the freakin' difference??

Inequality, saying they want to address the issues and help people get better wages. Yet The GOP does just the opposite in the House and Senate. They are waging a war on middle class. Where do the presidential candidates connect with the GOP house and senate. Is the GOP so divided that they disagree on everything. We look at the bills that have passed recently and its a war on middle class and they are letting Wall Street go back to their criminal ways under George Bush. Are we waiting for another economic crash under the GOP? What is their real agenda? Its seems like they would want a strong middle class to support the states and USA, yet it doesn't seem like it?

I wonder why they continue to get elected with there agenda. DESTRUCTION OF THE USA and MIDDLE CLASS.

Their wettest wet dream is to capture the Social Security trust funds first (either by mandated, or voluntary, privatization) and THEN engineer another crash. Then, they can say "Whoops! Where'd that trust fund money go, now? Well, we invested it in this fund that was rated quintuple-A by the agency that we PAID to rate it (even though it's really nothing more than a can of dog turds) and your Social Security retirement money just kinda went down the memory hole," just like what happened with the value of your home and the cash in your 401K after their LAST crash!

When POTUS was re-elected he said he would fix the 6 hours in line to vote but so far I've seen nothing. Total nonsense, the richest 1% will own ALL the wealth and demand we pay them back for letting us exist on their dime, with interest! We will do NOTHING to stop them, vulture capitalism wins. We all lose. Game over.

We won't make a stink when they charge us for water and air, THEY will have paid for mouthpieces (like the do now) DEMANDING we feel like shit for using up the riches air and land and water. WE SUCK and should be thankful for the table scraps of the table scraps we are promised to get one day soon.

The people I blame? Those in office that can stop this takeover by a select few. I never thought the world would except slavery under low wages and dire living conditions, but I now know better.

Class warfare is out and the owners won hands down.

A new Oxfam report indicating that the wealthiest one per cent possesses about half of the world’s wealth has left the richest people in the world “reeling with disappointment,” a leading billionaire said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters in Davos, Switzerland, where he is attending the World Economic Forum, the hedge-fund owner Harland Dorrinson said, “I think I speak for a lot of my fellow billionaires when I say I thought we were doing a good deal better than that.”
Calling the Oxfam findings “sobering,” he said that he hoped they would serve “as a wake-up call to billionaires everywhere that it’s time to up our game.”
“Quite frankly, a lot of us thought that by buying politicians, rewriting tax laws, and hiding money overseas, we were getting it done,” said Dorrinson, who owns the hedge fund Garrote Capital. “If, at the end of the day, all we control is a measly half of the world’s wealth, clearly we need to do more—much more.”

Tue Jan 20, 2015, 10:48 PM

Conservative pundits keep saying, "You can't help the poor by hurting the rich."

Like the rich are so easily hurt. All these taxes will do is force them to get the large yacht instead of the extra-large yacht. That money is much more economically viable in the hands of the middle class consumers who buy products.
