Papantonio: Defense Contractors Try To Gut Whistleblowers

Retaliation against whistleblowers is at an all-time high. That’s the conclusion of the recent report coming from the Ethics and Resource Center. They found that around 22% of workers that report misconduct experience extreme retaliation in one form or another. And if that’s not bad enough, corporate America is now trying to gut one of the most important whistleblower protection laws on the books.

America’s Lawyer, Mike Papantonio, fills in for Thom Hartmann on RT America’s The Big Picture to discuss this. Joining Pap in this segment is attorney Chris Paulos.

It can be something as innocent as a simple question of why we're opperating the way we are. That will be seen as a complaint, questioning someones authority and look out!

It's really text book retailiation and harrassment, pretty much just the way it's written up in our company policy. You'd think it would be a "how to" guide for these supervisors but actually it says that kind of thing will not be tolerated. There are enough people with stories of similar treatment and able to show damages and that it is a pattern. I think we're cruising for a major lawsuit.
