(1,186 posts)If so, Jones would be less a "friend" and more of a lobbyist.

Republican presidents can falsify intelligence to justify an expensive counterproductive war of choice.
It is not illegal if Republican presidents do it.

(8,733 posts)The fact that his defense is "a rule was written, by a governor, that makes it ok for governors to do it" is the most condescending and elitist bullshit I have every heard.
the fact the McBoondoggle in Va only got 2 years when sentencing guidelines called for a minimum of 10-12 years is condescending and elitist bullshit.
Even if Chris Shiftie admits later it was wrong, he will come on TV and put on a sad clown face and give lip service to poor decisions and even worse advice from staff and say "just want to say I've learned from this experience and I for one want to put this whole experience behind me and move forward to better days ahead..." blah blah blah. Everyone will think he is a "great leader" for taking non-responsibility "responsibility" and ask everyone to "get off his case..he apologized" sort of...and in short NOTHING WILL HAPPEN....NOTHING TO SEE HERE.
Chris Shiftie 2016!

(3,585 posts)Seriously. That was my question.
Was it signed by a previous NJ governor?
Nope.
"Christies office has argued despite Jones and the NFL doing business with the state, the governor is nonetheless permitted to accept the travel and tickets under an executive order he signed that permits him to accept gifts from 'personal friends.' "

Though I read in another thread that McGreevey originally signed this EO. Can anyone clarify?

(45,251 posts)Laws are made for everyone else. They don't apply to him.
Greedy thug with a strong sense of entitlement.
Remember the helicopter he took to his son's soccer game at taxpayer expense 'cause meeting with the high rollers who wanted him to run for POTUS made him later for the game. Yes, he did reimburse (in theory) for the trip, but only after it hit the publicity fan.
If he didn't know about the bridge stunt, I'll eat that bridge without tenderizer.
