Rubin Report: Elf on the Shelf's Dirty Secret

Not familiar with the Elf on the Shelf? See a clip of the elf in the video.

1. Total OVERREACTION to Elf on a Shelf. This is NONSENSE. Elf on a Shelf is just a fun Christmas

season thing for kids, not "surveillance" and certainly not how parents are trying to teach their kids to be good, as if this is their entire way of doing that. It's just a Christmas thing. My goodness folks, go fry some bigger fish.

Given that I am 63, was that conditioning for a surveillance state? Or were my parents just buying into McCarthyism or J. Edgar Hoover?

Sorry. I'm still a Fourth Amendment purist, but I still think that Santa Claus is benevolent and that the NSA is not awesome.
