They think like children, if they think at all. People protest when they are mad at the system for allowing or fomenting an injustice. They will never carry signs that read, "Down with bad individuals!" What's the government's answer supposed to be? "Okay then, we'll put an end to bad individuals!"

If people protested the killing of cops, it would have to be along the lines of protesting the lack of gun control that allowed this. That is one of the few protests that would make logical sense.

I agree with what we are headed for in this society. I know it to be true locally, based on the hero worship broad strokes, when in fact, this profession is one that serves. Unfortunately, this service to the public is also adorned with political stature. Who DARES go up against it finds out what I mean.

I chose to go into the front lines of the health care profession. It will be 40 years this next month. I've paid a price of my physical well being. I wasn't paid particularly commensurate with what I've given over the years. I'm not complaining, and neither should the police when we expect them to live up to "protect and serve".

This should be getting a LOT more comment. Thank you, Thom.

that would require thought. Too many are nit-picking this post:

with winning statements like "most police shootings are justified".
