TYT: Obama, McConnell Lock Arms In Expanding Corporate Power

"Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has been dreaming about cutting major deals as Senate majority leader for most of his career. Next year, he'll finally get the chance to do it with the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the most ambitious free trade agreement since the Clinton era. The only thing standing in his way is his own political party.

President Barack Obama's administration has been negotiating the TPP since the beginning of his presidency. Twelve nations are now involved in the talks, which have major implications for the U.S. economy, public health and foreign policy. But Obama has faced two domestic obstacles to enacting his pact: Democrats in Congress, who worry it will exacerbate income inequality, and a bloc of House Republicans, who are up in arms about the deal's implications for executive power and national sovereignty.

The administration conducts the talks in secret, so the public only knows about terms of the deal through leaked documents. But opposition from conservative hardliners has intensified since GOP gains in the midterm elections, even as McConnell has pledged to cut a deal with Obama on TPP as one of his first orders of business next year."* The Young Turks host Cenk Uygur breaks it down.

for Obama and we citizens. Turns out - just a bad thing for us working class citizens.

No vote from me for anyone who supports the TPP. And it someone considers not wanting the TPP as a pony, they are severely short-sighted or stricken with hero worship.

Obama is a Republican lite that gave great campaign speeches and convince everyone .."No I really am a liberal" (ok then left of center for all you center of the road Democrats)and after the election is over..he says " Well see I had to come across as a liberal because the Republicans would not allow me to run on their ticket...
Well now dammit I'm pissed because this is not the first time he had fed Democrats crumbs while in reality catering to the Republicans but it does not matter now. Because in two years he will get his 1.5 million+ for trasition back to private life plus millions more for his memoirs and a million or so a year for the hell of it.
Another jobs killing bill it BS.This is NAFTA on steroids

Damn right we need Elizabeth Warren to run for President !!!

4. THIS is what gives the lie to the notion that leftists "just can't get elected"

Because there are lots and lots of honest CONSERVATIVES out there (not Republicans, or as I usually say, "right-wingers&quot who fundamentally agree with us leftists on issues like this.

So while the Ready For Hillary crew makes common cause with the corporatist Republicans, we leftists can make common cause with real (not tea-bag) conservatives.

Bernie knows this. That's why he's been spending so much time in the Deep South, where populism is strong and deep-seated, even if the Republicans have, for the time being, co-opted it.

Edit to add: "If you say, 'How dare you! How can you ever agree with the Tea Party!', well, then, you're not an honest person." Cenk's mouth to God's ear!
