1. My English teacher in high school played John Lennon songs all thru class

because he was so sad. That was a very depressing class period. He also resembled JL, I might add.

I hid behind the recliner in the living room and just cried and cried. I loved the Beatles.

My first thought was, "Now they will never play together again." My second was shame at being American; not for the first time or the last.

The death of Lennon signifided the beginning of the Reagan nightmare. A nightmare that we have only occassionally awoken from and may now be slipping back into.
