France's Le Pen hearts Putin: Russia seeks Far-Right allies among EU parties


Relations between the Kremlin and Europe's far-right political parties continue to strengthen, with Marine Le Pen, the leader of France's far-right National Front, travelling to Moscow over the weekend. Meeting with the Speaker of the lower house of the Russian parliament Sergei Naryshkin, Le Pen said that the European Union had declared a Cold War on Russia.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Sadly there is no burgeoning movement against nuclear-proliferation as there was in the 60s-80s. I guess we feel so fundamentally insecure about our life's and children's prospects, that the end of the world may not be such a bad thing?

I would see films like The Day After, Threads, or By Dawn's Early Light and have sleepless nights in my youth. Shoot, I would have a hard time with Damnation Alley re-running on TV!

Am I the only one who thinks tensions with Russia and China and their proxies can quickly escalate to a nuclear exchange?
