If the video is serious, it is merely offensive. IF, however, it is (as I suspect) an attempt to ridicule the video put out some weeks back by the young woman who attempted to show the harassment she received in walking around New York, then it's just gross. I say this as a gay man who has lived out and proud and openly in NYC for 32 years.

people are choosing to harass this guy based on their own perceptions and judgements of his appearance. All they know of him is how he looks.

I didn't perceive it as an attempt to ridicule the video that illustrated the harassment a woman received while walking around New York. She brought up a great issue -- other's prejudice / pre-judging -- and this is another example.

This video was made with all the sensitivity of "Borat."

"dressed as a homosexual" ?! They couldn't find a gay man in NYC ?? It is offensive that someone would create their own stereotype, use the word "homosexual" and then claim to be raising awareness in what seems only like an effort to pimp their YouTube channel. And they know it since they acknowledge that it might be offensive at the beginning.

In 18 years I have had one incident which was B&T kids yelling "fags" out the window of a moving car when I was walking with a VGL and well dressed friend at night on the UWS. Tens of thousands of hours on the streets, one fairly mild incident is my experience.

I was always mystified by "straight" men who would grab their junk and scream things like "I got what you want right here, faggot." Of course, being the smart ass that I am, I usually responded with, "If you can hold it in one hand, I am not interested." Shut them up right quick. It is very disconcerting to be attacked for being gay. I used to cringe when my parents came to visit because I was always afraid someone would say something, then I would have to raise bail for my mother after she went ape-shit on the person(s) who said anything nasty to me.

Even though this video is likely a prank, those rude and disgusting comments were real (I think). It is appalling that a fellow human being should have to go through that for any reason.

I admire how you deal with incidents like those you have described, but am sorry that have to deal with it at all. Some people just plain suck... I don't know how else to put it.

'Stepping On Jordans In The Hood Prank'
'Messing With Girls In Public'
'Booty #Selfie'
'Farting In The Library Prank'

Note: I originally meant to post this to the OP, not nilram. My apologies.

Tries to set up a stranger, who probably isn't a stranger.

Then calls her a b-word. I would spell it out but a jury might hide it.

None of my gay male friends would be caught dead in orange pants and a black top that bared their middles, not even to a "be your favorite stereotype" Halloween party.

The harassment was likely staged. Gay bashing is usually physical. Only the guy who shoulder checked him was believable as a gay bashing asshole.

I hope he had a brick in that bag, just in case.

is a dead giveaway. The whole setup diminishes the ACTUAL harassment that women and homosexuals and POC face by various factions. No need to bait the situation to prove anything. Unrec.

Anyone can go out and videotape a woman being hooted at or a person in funny pants, then collect enough of it to edit out everything and keep the inevitable crass and rude an mean parts.

The catcalling video, which left out white people, was made by an agency trying to promote themselves.

This stinks of the same agenda.

Next up, people in wheelchairs.
