The situation where a white man loses his temper and kills a colored man/woman/child.

It wasn't meant for anyone else. Sorry ladies!

Defense of oneself in a home is protected under the principle of "castle doctrine" and has existed in law since before the USA was a nation. Stand Your ground removes the duty to retreat when faced with violence outside the home and is arguably causing more deaths as people choose to fight rather than flee. The problem for a domestic scenario is that both parties are allowed in the home, so neither self defense really applies. An abusive husband could murder his wife and claim SYG. Rather than face that, Domestic disputes get decided under the standard self defense rules of law.
