I suppose it's the fact we are trained by Reality television, and television in general to respect the worst kind of behavior in humanity, people screaming and clawing at one-another, putting each-other down. It's no wonder.

He gave $250M in TAXPAYER money to the developers of the Revel Casino. It closed less than two years after it opened and was recently auctioned off for about $100M. Where's the money Christie gave them? Probably some of it found its way into his campaign treasury.

(2,419 posts)what has he done TO the State of New Jersey.
Property Taxes?-Higher, check. Unemployment?-one of the highest rates in the nation. Check. State's credit rating?-Downgraded 5 times. Check. Infrastructure? Neglected. Check. Sandy recovery? Well, money has gone to politically connected firms-the rest, bungled. Check. Public pension system? in a shambles, check. But he did manage to get hundreds of millions in management fees to politically connected investment firms. That's quite a record, but its just the tip of the iceberg. You can get a more comprehensive list here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10024395877
So yes, the correct question is what has he done TO New Jersey and the answer is plenty. Think of him getting loose on the country as a whole! Be afraid-be very afraid!

I suggest that he calculate two year's worth of interest on it. At a mere 1% and WITHOUT compounding, that's sixteen million dollars after only twelve months -- and it's money that no one would know is missing.

(24,710 posts)Heh, jerk (Christie) I want to see your books now and SHUT UP and SIT DOWN, since you like to use New Jersey taxes to take helicopter trips for baseball games and have close to 800 million doing what with this countries tax dollars to help out our fellow citizens during a natural crisis called Hurricane Sandy, what have you done hypocrite------nothing except fix a boardwalk, and the city that has just laid off over 8,000 casino employees in Atlantic City .
Better yet your state ranks close to s***T in debt, unemployment, no jobs creation, since you are bankrupting the state, just like your buddy Scott Walker has done in Wisconsin and if there was a 51rd state you would be below that in ranking, great leader or I should say lack of leadership from you and your republican cronies

(3,112 posts)him from being President.... this outta do it.
It was bad enough to see that clip played on TV, but really I just thought it was typical C.C. stuff, him berating another voter in public with the cameras rolling. But to know this particular voter's backstory of being a citizen and neighbour in the truest sense of the word, and then for him to have to take that 'roll up your sleeves or shut up' shit from Christie... well words simply fail.
This man must never be President, full stop. Thank gawd he won't be either.

(1,370 posts)Christie can't deal with confrontation. He's a "public servant" and this guy has a legitimate complaint, Christie's reaction outrage. The idea of someone questioning his authority sends him into a fit of rage. Instead of using the opportunity to simply respond to this guy who represents thousands of people in his state, Christie goes on the attack.
Notice while he begins to pretty much threaten this guy he unconsciously goes for the water bottle. Three times in less than a minute! If he were away from the podium and water bottle was a whopper and large order of fries? I have nothing against people who are struggling with obesity. Eating issues can have deep roots that lead to habits that aren't easy to break. But this guy is an insecure rageaholic with an eating disorder who's seriously considering a run for the Presidency... If we're seeing this kind of dysfunctional behavior in public consider what's going on behind closed doors?
President Chris Christy, scary thought!!!!

(12,151 posts)Not just for "Bridgegate," wherein he quite obviously ordered, had ordered, or allowed to be ordered, an insanely vindictive, dangerous, and pointless traffic disaster for some kind of juvenile payback, but for all those Sandy funds quite clearly being directed, mis-directed, and sat upon according to corrupt and partisan aims?
His bluster-fu self-defense technique is riveting to watch, but no amount of yelling and glaring should be able to deflect this much blatant corruption and abuse of power.
