1. Republicans have hated Dan Rather for decades

He also went after Nixon and his henchmen. Colson hated Rather.

And so eventually they got Rather.

3. Yes. But what also infuriates me is that people like to talk shit about the media. But when they

actually do their jobs on a rare occasion the get all self righteous about the office and blah blah blah. As if these people are monarchs.

5. I remember watching this and being shocked by Bush's unwarrented

aggression.

But then, the media had been talking about Bush's "wimp factor" and Bush wanted to put that to rest.

Funny, though, I thought Bush came off as a wimpy bully -- using his office to attack someone who could not fight back due to the medium.

6. They targeted Rather and the rest got the hint.

There are very few reporters with any cojones these days, even if they would even be allowed to do probing interviews. Most do not want to lose their access, or their jobs. Those Bushes are evidently above the law!
