(10,495 posts)see, drillers routinely dump everything in the drink. Now we will have the toxic stew of Fracking chemicals in the water where until recently, I used to fish and swim. Had to cancel a scheduled beach trip this August with my young grand kids due to flesh eating bacteria that infected a local Justice of the Peace. The bacteria is caused by runoff mixture of human and animal waste, and fertilizer. These companies have ruined the Gulf of Mexico in the name of Capitalism. Well, the Free Market has decided we don't need clean waters as long as they can sell gas!
About BP, I work for many of the victims and I can tell you that Obama has allowed them back in the game way before they have finished screwing over the victims of the 4/20/2010 Gulf disaster. They were allowed back in way before the Judge recently found them "Grossly Negligent" in worst oil spill in U.S. Waters. Hell, they were on probation for the 3/23/2005 explosion in Texas City when this spill happened. When we gave Eric Holder all of the dirty docs from the 2005, explosion and requested probation revocation, he let them off early! When have you ever seen someone on probation, who violates that probation, just let go? Obama may have done a lot of good things, but don't ever tell me he is not a Corpratist Democrat. They own him just as they own almost all of our politicians and we allow that to happen.
PUBLICLY FUNDED ELECTIONS!!!

(3,626 posts)to ban the entire process of fracking, or deciding the locations where fracking is or is not allowed? Wouldn't something like a complete ban, or geographic or geological prohibition take an Act of Congress? I've not heard of any such effort. So, if this is a legal activity, how is it the president's fault? Does his authority extend to such things? I, too, am outraged by this disgusting and frightening situation, but will someone fill me in if there is actual Executive authority to stop it.
