How To Handle An Illegal Traffic Stop "I Don't Answer Questions"

I am not necessary convinced this is the way to because it creates suspicion but he was well within his rights and it did shut things down because he gave them no openings or stumbles for them to blow out of proportion and make a lame arrest.

I've seen him is several videos of Handling Police with Bullshit excuses to pull him over. On the other hand if he was black they'd put a cap in his ass.
What is really going on in America is that more and more people are dealing with police in an adversarial way. the police have to be feeling the pressure. if they were smart the attitudes would change and egos would be shelved. instead egos are feeding Attitudes, How dare the populous question my authority! that is till the Cameras come out then it's Andy Griffith time.
Combine this Police State Attitude with poor economics and this a formula for disaster, and if it becomes violent, it wont end well for anyone. The pols better start listening, if they don't people can go from following to chasing pretty fast.

I wouldn't recommend it either. Too easy for them to make chit up and plant things when you stick up for your rights. Even videotaping may not be enough protection.

After an illegal traffic stop is shown and people say, "Why didn't you just go along with your rights being violated?" or "Why didn't you let them search if you weren't hiding something?"

or

If that had been me, I would have asserted "Ma rights!"

I ask, "Are you a white guy who seems to have enough money and education to put up a (legal) fight and not worry about being shot or arrested?"

and if you say you did it because you could...

I would suggest you continue and I thank you.

I admire this man for making these videos defending citizens' rights. And I also must agree with other commenters who've observed that so many American police have such a bad attitude that emulating this man's behavior could cause the situation to escalate, particularly if you're a minority.

All of which, I suppose, amounts to the following observation: If you are in any kind of an interaction with American police, God help you.

Makes me wonder how many crimes go unsolved or cases botched because IDIOT police officers can't resist waving their authority in people's faces.

The police are watching us, but who is watching the police?

for the sole purpose of fucking with the police. That is the definition of trolling.

He's a James O'Keefe type. He's been exposed on DU numerous times, then reposted and a bunch of people fall for his BS again.

He's made numerous videos like this.

For the record, his name is Kenny Suitter, and he's a conservative hate radio host.

Years ago I was a new teacher in SC, and I gave a black basketball player a ride home from a game (times were different then!).

I was pulled over and the cop asked, "Why do you have that boy in your car?". After he recognized the student, he asked if I was the new teacher in town!!

He also asked, "What kind of car is that?". I said it was a Fiat (pronounced with a long e sound). He said, "I had enough school to know that you don't spell that F-I-A-T" (with a long i sound)!

Over the years, I got to know Officer Hodges. That small town had three officers who each took an 8 hour shift. They stopped anyone going through town that they didn't recognize! The PUBLIC schools had an elected superintendent who was a Baptist minister, and we had "social studies" that included a daily Bible reading. My science library was missing the volume on evolution.

If those country cops stopped you and you were black, you could just as easily be shot or taken to jail for any random reason, and no one in town up to the judge would have ever raised an eyebrow. It's a little different now, but not as much as you would think. Actually, you're guilty if you are black or hispanic with a lot of these ranger dangers!

what has that got to do with anything? He either did something or he didn't, whether he is from the area or not.
