Swat Team Raids Innocent Woman's Home; Lawsuit Filed

An elderly woman's home was raided by police after she was suspected of making anonymous online threats against the Evansville police department and Chief Billy Bolin.

The 68-year-old woman, Louise Milan was in the house with her 18 year old adopted daughter when police shattered a glass door and burst in after throwing flash grenades inside.

Police came up empty-handed in the search for evidence about who had made the threatening posts but only after damaging Louise Milan’s house, handcuffing her and her adopted daughter and seizing their computers, according to a lawsuit that has been filed against the city of Evansville.

The FBI later arrested Derrick Murray, a suspected local gang leader who lived nearby in his mother’s house and was using his smartphone to access the Milan's unsecured wireless network.

They always act like threatening THEM is so much more important than threats against others.

sure I have this correct. A person can call the cops because someone has threatened to kill them The response is usually that they can't do anything, unless the person threatening actually does something.

But someone threatens the police.....Sent in the SWAT.

home of the suspect... right, because simply sending a detective over to investigate further would be less cost effective and less of a rush. Much more fun smashing doors in and throwing grenades into private residences.

I guess the militarized policing means that "when one has a hammer, every issue becomes a nail" that has to be pounded down - period.

After causing damage and destruction to these people's house and leading them outside in handcuffs, they hang around and joke about their adventure as if the were at a frat party.

I hope this video is used as a model for how NOT to go about investigating a threat made to the local PD--IF they have enough in their budget after paying out what I hope is a ruinous settlement handed down against the city of Evansville.

What the fuck is wrong with this country. Bunch of macho delta bravos attacking this house like Bin Laden is in there or something. Scares the living hell out of me. Then they probably went out for a beer after shift and joked about it even more.
