In this video they talk about problems with access to the vote, health care, gay rights, women's rights, education and the environment. All very serious issues facing our country today. The problem is that we pick those issue most important to us as individuals, and that is what we fight for. This divides us and keeps us from reaching critical mass. We are not seeing the forest through the trees. All of these issues could be fairly dealt with, but for one thing! The wealthy pick our politicians, they own them! If we ever want to fix these issues we must start with the root problem underlying all of these issues, our corrupt electoral system. As long as we allow legalized bribery in the form of campaign contributions we will continue to watch our country decline. I would like to see Moral Mondays unite behind one thing, and one thing only, to address the litany of serious issues facing us. We must demand complete campaign finance reform and publicly funded elections. The Preacher is right, this is not a Democrat or Republican issue, it is an American issue! Our government has devolved into a joke, and unfortunately the joke is on us. It is on us to join together to get the massive numbers it will take to effect the change of how we choose our Representatives so that they will be OUR REPRESENTATIVES, and not those of the wealthy elite! I am asking DU members to be the first group to unite in the call for Publicly Funded Elections and Complete Campaign Finance Reform! Let us no longer focus only on our individual issues, let's focus on the real reason we have those issues in the first place! Spread the word!
