Just A Reminder on Why the GOP is Singling SHINSEKI Our for Special Treatment in the VA Scandal

Not that Republicans need an excuse to gin up a scandal, but there's a SPECIAL reason why they keep calling for Shinseki's head that involves a PERSONAL grudge....

Shinseki was the only high profile soldier to piss on the Bush Administration's parade in the run up to the Iraq invasion, by telling THE TRUTH. When Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz and all the other armchair generals were spreading the word that the Iraq invasion would be over in six months, and would pay for itself with $20/barrel oil prices....Shinseki said THIS. He was fired a few months later.

1. The GOP holds grudges. They impeached Clinton as revenge for Nixon....

As if the Democrats were at fault for Nixon's crimes.

3. It takes a 2/3rds majority in the Senate to do that....

They'll impeach Obama in the next session of the House just to run out the clock so they don't have to talk about things America wants, like JOBS.

...even though no matter what Mayor Daley may have done, if Illinois had flipped and gone for Nixon it wouldn't have changed the election result: Kennedy still would have won.

And then they tell you to "just get over it already" regarding Florida in 2000.

And as a "thank you" they called him everything in the book.

If there is any hope it's in the fact that the current generation of voters grew up watching this crap on the Internet.

7. Shinseki is just a convenient target for the GOP

Shinseki's character is beyond reproach. He's running an agency that has needed help since the Vietnam War. VA is overwhelmed due to the last two wars. The bottom line is the republicans blocked the most recent attempt to improve the VA. The GOP has only their own chickenhawk selves to blame.
